Friendship Skills Class

Building and maintaining friendships is an important part of personal well-being. This class supports individuals in developing the social understanding and skills needed to create and sustain meaningful relationships. Participants will explore what friendship means to them, how to connect with others who share similar interests, and strategies for maintaining positive and healthy friendships.

Through interactive, specially designed curriculum, participants will learn and apply social skills such as initiating conversations, recognizing social cues, setting boundaries, and resolving conflicts. The goal of this class is to help individuals gain confidence in social situations, strengthen skills, and build relationships that enhance their quality of life and community participation.

Social & Community Engagement Skills Group - Level 1 - Session 3

Young adults in this group will focus on enhancing the skills necessary for social engagement and community participation. Through guided instruction, individuals will strengthen interpersonal communication, social awareness, and independence in a range of environments. This session will also incorporate community-based experiences, allowing participants to practice and reinforce these skills with support.

Independence and Interpersonal Skills Development Session -Level 2 - Session 3

In this session, young adults work on building essential interpersonal and self-management skills for everyday success. Participants practice communicating needs, managing emotions, and responding appropriately to various situations. They will increase awareness of how their actions impact others and learn strategies to adjust their behavior in constructive, socially appropriate ways. Learning will be reinforced through two community-based instruction outings.

Level 1 Social Skills - Session 3

This one-hour class provides focused instruction and practice in social skills that contribute to successful interactions. Participants will work on self-control, frustration management, and perspective taking. Role play opportunities and guided interactions in unstructured settings will allow participants to apply these skills with support.

Level 2 Social Skills - Session 3

This one-hour class teaches and reinforces social skills essential for positive interactions. Students will receive explicit instruction in gaining attention, ignoring distractions, using self-regulation tools, and interpreting nonverbal cues such as body language. To support skill generalization, participants will engage in community-based instruction, applying what they’ve learned in a variety of real-world settings.
